Beverly Art Competiton offers $5000 in prizes

Artists living and working within 100 miles of Chicago are invited to enter works in the 37th Annual Beverly Art Competition & Exhibition, one of Chicago’s most prestigious competitions featuring cash awards. The entry deadline is Oct. 4 and applications are available at the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St., Chicago and online under the gallery option at www.beverlyartcenter.org.

Sponsored by Beverly Bank & Trust, $5000 in cash awards range from the $1,500 Best of Show to $100 for honorable mention. Prizes are awarded in eight categories including figurative, non-representational, three-dimensional and photographic awards.

Works must have been completed within the last five years and be professionally finished. Artists must be age 18 or older. The non-refundable application fee is $30.

Judges for the 2013 Beverly Art Competition are Maria Gaspar and Gabriel Bizen Akagawa. 

Winners in the Beverly Art Center 37th Annual Juried Exhibition will be announced at a reception on Fri., Nov. 8, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Center, and works by winners and finalists will be on exhibit Nov. 8 through Jan. 5, 2014.
