What Should Go Here? Empty Lots at 115th and Western Avenue

The land, owned by the city, sits vacant in the neighborhood's primary shopping district. We want your ideas about what would be perfect for that spot.

Here at Patch we like to use our site to give the community a voice. It is with that spirit in mind that I'm putting this development question out to the residents.

What would you like to see take over the empty lots at 115th Street and Western Avenue? Tell us in the comments.

The northeast and southeast lots are owned by the city. One of the vacant lots was a former gas station, meaning any structural development would likely have to expend a great deal of environmental clean up costs.

In the past, the idea of vacating 115th Street east of Western has been floated. Some see it as an opportunity to unite the two lots and at the very least use the space for some sort of simple recreational purpose.

Ald. Matt O'Shea says there has never been any quality users interested in that space, however he has pursued various possible developers.
