BAC Announces Art Show Finalists

The Beverly Arts Center announced the finalists in their 36th Annual Juried Art Show.

Finalists in the Beverly Art Center’s 36th Annual Juried Exhibition have been selected by judges Bernard Williams and Larry Lee and winners will be announced at the opening reception Fri., Nov. 9, 7 to 9 p.m. Open to artists living and working within 100 miles of Chicago, 112 artists submitted works to the competition, which offers $5000 in cash awards. Exhibit to Showcase Art by 19th Ward Residents

The Art 19 event at Beverly Arts Center focuses on neighborhoold talent.

The Beverly Arts Center has hosted paintings and artwork by some of the finest artists in the Midwest. Now the facility will host a show to display some of the best neighborhood talent. Art 19 will be a gallery dedicated to artists from the 19th Ward – Mt. Greenwood, Beverly and Morgan Park. It runs Sept. 21 through Oct. 28 with a reception at 6 p.m. Sept. 22. “It’s in conjunction with Chicago Artists Month in October, so art organizations all over the city participate in these activities,” BAC Communications Director Grace Kuikman said. “We’re so well supported by members of the 19th Ward communities, our curator, Carla Winterbottom, said it would be a lot of fun to focus on the talent we have here at home. Now Open: Three Art Exhibits at BAC

The Beverly Arts Center has three shows running, including one that features art inspired by Ireland.

There are three art exhibits currently going on at the Beverly Arts Center. The work of mj loftus can be found in the Bridge Gallery through Sept. 16. The images reflect the time she spent on Illauntanaugh Island on the Dingle Peninsula of Ireland.  Painters Alberto Aguilar and Jorge Lucero occupy the East Gallery through Sept. 16. The exhibit features art work placed in unique spaces that might normally be forgotten in a traditional exhibit layout.   The BAC faculty exhibit is also currently being held in the Atrium Gallery through Sept. 16. The Beverly Arts Center details each artist and exhibit in more detail on its website.
