Beverly memories

You know you are from Beverly if you remember riding your bike down the steps on 103rd towards Longwood Drive, and walking it back up the dirt path beside the steps. The steps are still there, but the dirt path is landscaped. The Beverly Variety store on 103rd near Walden Parkway, which had everything a five and dime shoud have. The great customer service at Belmont Food Mart at 107th and Hale, and the great chicken salad they had in their deli. There was also a diner around 103rd and Walden were I would go for lunch when I didn't want to walk all they way home from St. Barnabas. Can't remember it's name, but they had great food and Blue Plate Specials. I loved to order a Green River there. Buying penny candy from The Purple Cow at 104th and Western, and all the antiques they had there. Getting hotdogs and shakes at Janson's.
