Marist to Host 50th Annual Band Christmas Concert and Debut of New Musical

Marist High School will hold both their 50th annual Christmas concert and performances of the musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown."

It will be a busy week for the arts at Marist High School.

Starting things off will be performances by the school's Lantern Theater Company of the musical “You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown." It will be the first winter production of the group.

Performances are set for Thursday, Dec. 12 and Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 3 p.m. The show will be held in the RedHawk Theater. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and can be reserved by emailing lanterntheatre@marist.net.

This  show features  beloved Peanuts characters brought to life by Marist students Ben Barry (Beverly), Jennifer Glynn (Mt. Greenwood), Aidan Martinez (Chicago Ridge), Kelly Collins (Blue Island), Matt Jones (Midlothian), and Brian Canchola (Alsip). The show is directed entirely by working theatre professionals and Marist alumni Dominic Rescigno (Oak Lawn), Annie Garrigan (Orland Park), Natalie Russo (Beverly), Katelyn Peters (Mt. Greenwood), and Alex Newkirk (Lakeview).

Continuing a Marist tradition, the school's band will be holding their 50th annual Christmas concert this coming weekend. Performances will be on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 3 p.m. The concert will be held in the main gym.

Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at the door. The concert will feature
"an assortment of musical delights, including classical music, pop sounds, and traditional music of the Yuletide season."
