CPS Schools Closed on Monday In Anticipation of Frigid Weather

Chicago Public Schools will be closed on Monday, January 27 as below freezing temperatures are expected to move through the area. 

In the announcement of the closure CPS officials say they have been monitoring the weather forecast and determined that it would be "dangerously cold for children to be traveling." 

This is the third day this month that schools have closed due to unusually frigid temperatures. 

The announcement said that it was likely classes will start again on Tuesday, but a final decision would not be made until Monday.
