SXU appoints Shereitte Stokes as Vice President for University Advancement

Saint Xavier University (SXU) is pleased to announce that Shereitte Stokes has been appointed Vice President for University Advancement, effective June 1.

"We are excited to welcome Mr. Stokes to Saint Xavier's leadership team, as he brings nearly 20 years of experience in university advancement, comprehensive fundraising, and campaign leadership," said President Christine M. Wiseman, J.D.

Stokes most recently was the executive director of the Cradleboard Foundation, a program in Nashville that helps artists and arts organizations raise money from charitable sources, from 2012 to 2013. He also is director of the Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive Board for the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Stokes previously served as vice president of the University Relations and Development Division at Tennessee State University from 2006 to 2011, vice president of the University Advancement division at Tuskegee University from 2004 to 2006, associate vice president of the Planned Giving, Development Services, and Annual Fund Departments at Spelman College from 1999 to 2003, an associate director in the Department of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Rutgers University from 1996 to 1999, and a development officer for the College of Business Administration at University of Toledo from 1995 to 1996.

In addition to holding an Advance Certified Fund Raising Executive Designation, Stokes has a master's degree in education from University of Phoenix and a B.A. from Wilberforce University.
