Southside’s very own Katie Quick will be performing at the Beverly Arts Center August 10th. This is a CD release party for her third record called Endless Road. $15.00 & $13.00 for BAC members. 8pm show time.

Head to Oak Park for the 3rd Annual Oak Park/Forest Park Collector’s Crawl on August 17th. Participating record stores include Val’s Halla, Oak Park Records, Old School Records, Chicago Digital, & Reckless Records. Noon to 6pm. Bring a tote bag and plenty of cash!

Vintage Garage Chicago August 18th. 5051 N Broadway in the Uptown neighborhood.  They will be featuring punk & the 80’s that day. There are 3 parking garage levels of great finds, and all dealers will negotiate a price with you.  There will be a food truck outside the garage; a bathroom is on site, shopping is all in the shade, only $3.00 to get in. Sunday Night Concert CTA Chicago Tribute Anthology August 18th. In Oak Lawn located at 95th St & 52nd Ave. Time 7:00 to 9:30pm. Fireworks will follow the show.

Another place to find vintage treasures is the Randolph Market Festival August 24th & 25th located at 1350 W Randolph St and inside Plumbers Hall at 1340 W Washington.   Time 10am to 5pm.  Dates run thru December, check the full schedule at www.randolphstreetmarket.com.  This is definitely on my bucket list for 2013.

Shakespeare in the Parks, Ridge Park August 21st & 22nd. Presenting the Comedy Of Errors. Bring your blanket or a lawn chair. It’s free and show time is 6:30pm.

Head to Worth IL for Worth Days August 22nd thru August 25th. Nonresidents pay $5.00 to get in. Musical guests include Maggie Speaks, Infinity, & Hat Guys.

Depeche Mode is here on August 24th playing the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater.  They haven’t toured since 2009, this is a must see show.  They are incredible live! Bat For Lashes opens up for the band.  Showtime is 7:30pm. They were just mentioned in the latest Rolling Stone article Best Live Acts Now.

Cheap Trick plays Ravinia on August 31st.  Pack your bucket of wine and cheese and make the long drive to Ravinia at least once this summer. It really is a beautiful venue for a concert. Cheap Trick will perform with a live orchestra and they will treat us to their entire Budokan record as well at Sgt Pepper.  Showtime is 7:30.
