Woman Carjacked on Western Avenue

A woman was forced out of her car on Monday, Feb. 18

It was over in a matter of seconds. 

On Monday, Feb. 18 at about 5:15 p.m. a 37-year-old woman got into her car in the parking lot of a business on the 11800 block of Western Ave. and shut her door. 

Then a man approached the car and opened her door, said Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien.

He put an object against her side, which the woman believed to be a gun, and made her put her key into the ignition, O'Brien said. She was then forced out of the car and the man drove eastbound on 119th Street. 

The suspect is described as a black man between 18 and 25 years old with a bald head, O'Brien said. He was wearing jeans and a black puffy coat.
