Original story - Although Chicago police haven’t issued an Amber Alert, they’re calling two missing West Beverly boys taken early Wednesday evening an abduction.

Police are looking for Daniel Duignan, 11, and his 7-year-old brother, Owen, who were allegedly abducted by their mother around 6:30 p.m. yesterday.

Jamie Duignan, their mother, is driving a gray 2003 Honda Odyssey minivan bearing IL license plate 5138379.

The mother may also be traveling with the family dog, “an old English bulldog resembling a boxer breed,” a police news advisory said.

Owen, age 9, is five-foot-two, 130 pounds, with brown eyes and strawberry blond hair.

Both boys have crew cuts.

Police said the boys' disappearance does not fit the criteria for an Amber Alert because there is no evident threat.

Ald. Matt O'Shea (19th) said his office is in close contact with the 22nd District police commander

"The Chicago Police Department is working the Illinois State Police to locate Jamie and the boys," O'Shea said. "As a community, we are praying for a resolution and safe return of the boys to their home."
