Two Merrionette Park firefighters were charged with criminal sexual abuse and attempted criminal sexual assault.

Two Merrionette Park firefighters have been charged after prosecutors say one of them tried to assualt an unconscious woman at a party in Mount Greenwood Friday night, the Chicago Tribune reports

The men, Marvin Buhle, 24, and Michael Haas, 20, have been charged with criminal sexual abuse and attempted criminal sexual assault, the report says. Both men live in Chicago.

The victim, who was from out of town, was attending a party on the 3900 block of West 109th Street with her boyfriend. Haas and Buhle were also both in attendence, the Tribune reports.

A prosecutor said that the woman was passed out upstairs and that her boyfriend later found her in a room with Buhle on top of her with his pants down, the report says. Haas was standing outside of the closed door.

Buhle told police he was invited upstairs and Haas' lawyer denied the charges.

Please keep in mind that they are innocent until PROVEN guilty. There may be more to the story than that is reported. It makes a better headline when they state "off duty firefighter". Just remember you can't alway believe everything you read - I do not know the guys but, I do know that reporters have a way of not giving the whole story - only information that makes the story sound good.

Well, lets not assume that they are innocent either, lets just wait for the story to unfold. The police must feel they have enough evidence to prosecute them, that's why they've been charged! It is disgusting how people are so quick to point fingers at the victim, rather than the creep who violated the victim!

Honestly, it's not like our justice system doesn't fail ALL THE TIME! I just read about a 24 year old who beat and tortured animals while video taping it and posting it online and was cleared of the animal abuse charges! How is that right? Obviously our system is flawed.

Just like R. said, you have to let the story unfold. Wyatt, just because you have had experiences with them at a fire call doesn't mean every single person on that department is a shady person. I have also had experiences with people from that department and they are a nice group of guys. People jump to conclusions based on what they read, when alot of the time its not the whole story. So maybe we should all wait to hear the outcome of this instead of jumping to the conclusions.

Knowing multiple witnesses, and getting a first hand account from them I feel I can confidently state that the press has laid an accurate picture of the incident. These guys are grease balls and deserve what they get.

I would love to know what "evidence" you had a chance to review. Was it all the articles that said the same thing? Or did you hear word of mouth like everyone else...

@C. -word of mouth or articles are not evidence. Google the word evidence and it will explain it for you. But take your time as I don't want your head to explode from knowledge.
