Store Robbed of Money and Hair Extensions, Surveillance Photos Released - Updated

A beauty supply store was robbed late Monday morning.

Chicago Police are currently searching for two people the believe were involved in the robbery of a beauty supply store Monday morning. 

The robbery occurred in the 11100 block of Western Ave. around 11:55 a.m. on Monday, June 3, according to police. Detectives would like to find the two individuals in order to interview them, according to a news release. 

Three surveillance photos show a man and a woman inside of the beauty supply store at the time of the robbery. The woman was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and purple pants. The man had on a red sweatshirt with a large logo on the front and coral colored pants.

Update June 4, 10:45 a.m. - Police have released the details of what exactly happened inside the store on Monday. 

The two offenders, one male and one female, entered the shop where two women were working. 

The male had a gun and began filling a bag with hair extensions, money from the register and personal items of the two employees. The female suspect sprayed the 57-year-old worker with pepper spray. 

The pair then fled the scene. The 57-year-old woman was hospitalized and was expected to be released after treatment from Little Company of Mary Hospital. Her coworker, a 21-year-old woman, was not hospitalized but her eyes were also affected by the spray. 

The male suspect is described as a black man about six-foot-two and 18 to 22 years of age. The female suspect was about five-foot-five and in her 20s. A robbery alarm was activated during the hold up. 

Police have not made any arrests.
