Police Searching For Robber Who Hit At Least 3 Beverly Businesses in December

A Starbucks, CVS and Shell gas station have all been robbed during December.

The Chicago Police Department is looking for a man they believe to have robbed at least three local businesses during December.

Police say that a "large built" man has entered three separate businesses with his hands in his pockets and implies that he had a gun while ordering workers to empty the cash register. After the robberies he then flees on foot traveling eastbound.

The businesses robbed include:

  • Dec. 8, 6 p.m. - Shell Gas Station at 9955 S. Western Ave.
  • Dec. 16, 5:25 a.m. - Starbucks at 1933 W. 103rd St.
  • Dec. 28, 7:05 a.m. - CVS Pharmacy at 1930 W. 103rd St.

Police describe the man as a black male about six feet tall and weighing around 200 pounds.  During each incident he was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, ski mask and gloves.

Police officials are telling residents to note the license plate number of waiting vehicles within a block of possibly targeted businesses, but not to confront or challenge a suspect yourself and instead call 911 to report suspicious people or activity in your neighborhood with special attention paid to loitering.

Anyone with information about these incidents is encouraged to call the Area South Detectives Division at (312)747-8273.
