Police: Oak Lawn Man Exposed and Fondled Himself Near School in Mt. Greenwood

Daniel Vorberg, of Oak Lawn, has been charged with two felony counts of indecent exposure.

An Oak Lawn man has been charged with two felony counts of indecent exposure after he was seen fondling himself near a school in Mount Greenwood.

On Tuesday, April 30, Daniel Vorberg, 30, of the 5000 block of 101st Street in Oak Lawn, was observed sitting his car on the 11200 block of S. Spaulding Ave. in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood, according to Chicago Police News Affairs.

Two witnesses observed Vorberg "fondling and exposing himself" around 4 p.m. while sitting in the parked car just down the block from Cassell Elementary School, police said. Both witnesses reported the incident to police. 

After the incident, a picture of his car and license plate was posted to local Facebook groups where it was quickly disseminated among neighbors.

He was apprehended on Wednesday, May 1 around 3:45 p.m. in the 5000 block of Oakdale Drive in Oak Lawn, police said. 

Chicago Ald. Matt O'Shea (19th) vowed to work with prosecutors to ensure an "aggressive prosecution" while he described Vorberg as having an "extensive criminal history." 

Patch reported in October 2011 that Vorberg was charged with retail theft and two counts of battery after an incident at a Tinley Park Menards. 

In October 2009, Vorberg was charged with three counts of child abduction and one count of disorderly conduct for allegedly attempting to lure three 11-year-old girls to his SUV, according to published reports.
