The Chicago firefighter died Nov. 11 at the Beverly Firehouse after responding to a small fire.

In a procession that stretched for blocks, the body of fallen Chicago Firefighter Walter Patmon Jr. was escorted to its final resting place.

Patmon, 61, died on Nov. 11 after suffering what was believed to be a heart attack at the Beverly fire house. He had recently returned from a call.

The 18-year veteran of the department is survived by his wife and three daughters.

The Wednesday funeral was held at Apostolic Church of God, 6320 S. Dorchester, and Patmon was buried at Restvale Cemetery in Alsip. The procession made its way down 119th Street Wednesday afternoon.
