MORGAN PARK SHOOTING: 'People Ran Leaving Victim in Street'

23-year-old man fatally shot in Morgan Park on Saturday afternoon, Chicago Tribune reports.


Gunfire erupted on the Southwest Side Saturday afternoon, leaving a 23-year-old Morgan Park man dead, the Chicago Tribune reported.

According to preliminary information, police said that two groups were gathered in the 11000 block of South Homewood Avenue around 4:45 p.m. Shots rang out and people ran leaving the shooting victim lying in the street.

The man sustained a gunshot wound in the chest, and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office reported the time of death at 5:37 p.m., according to Chicago Tribune.
