Missing Beverly Boys and Cop Mom Located Near Green Bay: Reports

Authorities said cell phone signal indicated mom and sons were in Wisconsin. Boys safe and unharmed, not clear if abduction actually took place.

Two boys, ages 11 and 7, were found safe and unharmed with the their mother in Wisconsin a day after they were reported missing, Chicago Police said.

Daniel Duignan, 11, and his brother, Owen, 9, and their mother, Jamie Duignan, were located Thursday afternoon in Grand Chute, WI, just south of Green Ban, ABC 7 reported.

Police issued a community alert overnight for a reported “child abduction” in the Beverly neighborhood near 107th Street and Campbell. Jamie Duignan was believed to have abducted the boys, and, possibly the family dog, driving off in a gray, Honda Odyssey minivan around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.

Jamie Duignan is a Chicago police detective, and her husband a Chicago police officer. Both are said to be in the midst of a divorce, but share joint custody of the boys and still live together in the same home, according to ABC 7.

She reportedly told her husband that she was taking the boys to a park but did not return, ABC-7 said. Duignan’s minivan was spotted in a motel parking lot by a Grand Chute police officer around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, after a cell phone signal indicated they were in Wisconsin.

A police news advisory stated that it was unknown if charges would be sought against Duignan. Family members and investigators were en route to Wisconsin to be reunited with the boys.

Wisconsin officials said that Jamie Duignan was cooperative and that both boys were safe, according to news reports.

Chicago Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said in a statement to the Chicago Tribune that an Amber Alert wasn’t issued because “it did not meet criteria.”

"The children are with the biological mother and she is a custodial parent," Bond told the paper. "Although the Amber Alert criteria has not been met, law enforcement has other investigative tools to track and locate individuals.  Alert notifications throughout the region and across state lines have been made and our intelligence centers are communicating."

The boys uncle said the important thing was "that the boys were good, everyone is fine, so the rest of this can get sorted out," ABC 7 reported.
