Free Sox Tickets Available to Members of Fire and Police Departments

The Chicago White Sox are offering a limited number of tickets to select games throughout the season.

For the second year in a row, the Chicago White Sox will be offering each member of the Chicago Fire Department and Chicago Police Department two complimentary tickets to one of 14 games at U.S. Cellular Field this season, it was announced in a press release.

Last year the offer was made available to police officers, and the team decided to open it up to firefighters as well. In total, about 20,000 game tickets were given out last year, according to the team.

The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on the weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on non-game days.

"It truly is our honor to pay tribute to the extraordinary men and women of the Police and Fire departments, who proudly serve the great city of Chicago," said White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf, in a news release.  "This is a small gesture of gratitude from the White Sox to Chicago's everyday heroes."
