Convicted Oak Lawn Fondler Transferred to Stateville

Daniel Vorberg, 31, of Oak Lawn, has been transferred to an Illinois prison where he will serve the remainder of the three-year prison term for public indecency.

Daniel Vorberg, 31, was sentenced to a three-year prison term by a Cook County judge earlier this month. In May, a jury found Vorberg guilty of fondling himself near a group of children while sitting in his car in Mt. Greenwood in April 30, 2013.

A Cook County judge sentenced Vorberg to three years in an Illinois prison where he will be required to register as a sex offender.

Vorberg is currently at the Northern Reception and Classification Center in Stateville, which functions as the adult intake center for the entire state. He is undergoing intake and evaluation, until he can be transferred to a permanent institution.

During Vorberg’s sentencing hearing, both his mother and attorney referred to him as an alcoholic. He was denied probation because of his extensive history of misdemeanor arrests and court supervision for such charges as retail theft and driving under the influence. The public indecency charge is his first felony conviction.
