$15,000 Reward Offered for Killers of Retired Chicago Cop
Retired, blind Chicago police sergeant was shot trying to protect his wife during a home invasion.
The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation is offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrests and convictions of the individuals responsible for the murder of a retired Chicago police sergeant.
Elmer Brown was trying to protect his wife from two hooded intruders that forced their way into his home near 115th Street and Ave G in East Town just before midnight on March 10.
Investigators say the intruders entered through an unlocked door and inquired about a safe. When the 73-year-old retired officer, who was blind, stepped in front of his wife to protect her, he was shot in the neck.
Brown died Monday of his injuries at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
