Grasso Graphics of Alsip Supports Children and Teens Fighting Cancer

Grasso Graphics of Alsip recently gave back to children and teens fighting cancer and helped the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation (POTCF) by donating printing services for 250 promotional booklets in support of the Foundation’s annual fundraiser. The 40-page booklets helped the Orland Park-based non-profit organization, which provides toys and gift cards to children and teens diagnosed with cancer nationwide, to recognize and promote hundreds of donors and local businesses and to provide vital information about the popular fundraiser.

Every family faced with the adversity of battling cancer knows what a struggle it can be, and the Grasso family recently experienced the loss of family patriarch and printing company founder Sal Grasso to the disease. Perhaps that is why the Grassos understand the tremendous impact the Foundation has in bringing relief, comfort and distraction from painful procedures to brave young cancer patients.

Mark Grasso of Grasso Graphics said, “It has been our pleasure to support such a wonderful organization as the Treasure Chest Foundation over the years. My Dad recently lost his battle with cancer, and I know firsthand what it was like for him. I can’t imagine what it is like for a child or teenager to endure the treatments, and we wanted to do whatever we could to help ease their pain.”

They pride themselves on being a complete source for all business communications and have always been on the leading edge of technology.

Grasso Graphics’ thoughtful generosity places them on the leading edge of charity as well. Their kind-hearted support of the Foundation’s most important annual fundraiser will help provide the necessary funding to aid children battling cancer throughout Chicagoland and across the nation.

Treasure Chest Foundation CEO and Founder Colleen Kisel appreciates the contributions Grasso Graphics has made to the success of the Foundation’s annual fundraiser for more than a decade. “The Grasso family’s gift of printing our promotional booklets has made our annual fundraiser enticing and appealing and helped bring smiles of joy to childhood cancer patients and their families,” said a grateful Ms. Kisel.

The POTCF is a unique organization whose services impact more than 9,000 young cancer patients each month in 17 states across the nation. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. CEO Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Ms. Kisel discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain. Ms. Kisel noted that when children are diagnosed with cancer their world soon becomes filled with doctors, nurses, chemotherapy drugs, surgeries and seemingly endless painful procedures. Martin recently celebrated his 21st anniversary of remission from the disease.
