Get out and have fun at these local New Year's Eve events featuring fun for kids and adults alike.
Get ready to pop those champagne corks and throw some confetti, 2013 is coming to an end. If you prefer to avoid the downtown masses and hang out closer to home this New Year's Eve, take a look at our list of local events. If we missed one let us know in the comments.

Beverly's newest brewpub will be ringing in the new year with a special buffet starting at 8 p.m. The all you can eat affair includes a champagne toast at midnight and five drink tickets. Celebrate the last day of 2013 at Stony Creek Golf Course and Clubhouse. The evening includes a special dinner menu of steak or chicken from 8-9 p.m., followed by music with the Kate Sullivan Band at 9:30 p.m., topped off by a midnight champagne toast. Cash bar. $35. The parish is offering its annual New Year’s Day Bingo party. The kitchen will be open for your luncheon pleasure and homemade baked goodies are also for sale. Doors open at 1 p.m., Bingo starts at 3 p.m. 8925 S. Kostner, Hometown.
Jack Desmond's will host an Irish New Years Eve Party at 5 p.m., featuring live music by John Devlin, party favors, New Year's countdown at 6 p.m. (midnight in Ireland), plenty of food and drink and no cover charge. 10339 Ridgeland Ave, Chicago Ridge
Ring in the new year at 115 Bourbon Street. The $75 ticket will get you a top shelf bar from 9 pm. to 2 a.m., appetizer, dinner and breakfast buffets, four separate rooms of live entertainment. Doors open at 7:3o p.m. and seating is first come first serve. You can purchase tickets online.
Clancy’s, Oak Lawn’s favorite new Irish pub and pizza parlor, is hosting an Irish New Year’s Eve Party starting at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. countdown (midnight in Ireland), followed with live Irish music by the John Williams Band of Merriment. Oak Lawn VFW New Years Eve Party

New Years Eve at the Abbington
The Abbington’s is hosting its annual New Year’s Eve banquet featuring a five-course gourmet dinner prepared by executive chef Philip Griffin, including filet mignon and grilled jumbo shrimp entrée, exquisite hot and cold hors d’ oeuvre, and ultimate seafood bar. Unlimited California wines, a five-hour open premium bar, party favors, DJ and balloon drop and midnight champagne toast ring in 2014 with style, topped off by a late-night dessert bar. Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn with a NOON countdown. There will be special games and crafts. Face-painting will be available for an additional charge. Grandparents can get their faces painted too. Free admission for grandparents. Museum hours are 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; NYE celebration 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Adults and children, $7; seniors 55+, $6; children under one, free. 5100 Museum Place., Oak Lawn.
Palos Heights Rec Center New Year's Eve at Noon
Join the Palos Heights Recreation Department, 6601 W. 127th St., in ringing their own New Year at noon instead of midnight! The center will be transformed into a miniature Times Square complete with music and a “countdown to noon” balloon drop. It's a perfect way to spend New Year’s Eve with the kids. There will be a pizza lunch and fun new year’s activities for families with children 10 and under. This event is free.
The all inclusive party costs $95 and includes top shelf bar, hor d'euvres, filet mignon dinner, party favors, entertainment featuring the Dancing Noodles band and two other DJs You must reserve your table in advance.
