Watch Police Block a Busy Chicago Expressway to Protect a Family of Geese

Just adorable (unless you were stuck behind them).

CHICAGO — A slow-moving family of geese — mama, papa and five goslings — flirted with danger on Interstate 80/94 Tuesday during the evening commute. Traffic slowed to a waddle as police set up an escort to protect the babies, who wandered dangerously close to passing cars.

The Canada geese were headed west and crossed the Illinois state line into the south suburbs. Before police arrived, a few motorists tried to protect the birds as they walked in the emergency lane.

Our friends at NBC 5 Chicago provided a narrated bird's-eye view of the episode.
