More Local Businesses Set to Embrace Beverly Arts Center's Fundraising Drive

The money keeps rolling in from very generous local businesses.

What started as a few local businesses looking to get involved the the BAC Challenge has grown into a campaign that is raising serious cash for the Beverly Arts Center. 

A new batch of local businesses are set to offer special promotions as a way to raise money for the BAC's debt reduction drive. 

“The owners of local businesses are really getting creative about their events,” said Caroline Dwan, volunteer chair of the BAC Business Challenge Committee.

The latest group of merchant participants are as follows: 

  • On Saturday, Feb. 1 the 99th and Walden Parkway businesses are joining together for a fund raising event. Tranquility Salon, Sweet Freaks and Figlia Accessories Boutique  will donate 10 percent of their sales, The Blossom Boys will donate 10 percent of sales on flowers and giftware (excluding consignment artwork).
  • On Wednesday, Feb. 19 Beverly Hills Garage, 2043 W. 95th St., will donate 15 percent of repair receipts to the BAC Challenge. Appointments suggested, (773) 238-0540.
  • On Mar. 23 - 29 Beverly Bike and Ski, 9121 S. Western, will donate $25 to the BAC Challenge from every bike spring tune-up.
Recent participants in the program include Horse Thief Hollow, Hardboiled Coffee, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Home Run Inn Pizza and Cork and Kerry.

Keane Gas Station donated five cents of every gallon of has sold during December to the cause, a total of $3768.10. Waldo Cooney's Pizza raised $575. Fitzgerald Real Estate is continuing their fundraising efforts by donating $100 for every house they sell to the challenge, for a total of $600 and counting.
