Memorial Day Mass, Ridge Run and Parade Highlight Local Weekend Happenings

Find a list of the biggest local events around town this weekend.

Memorial Day weekend is traditionally thought of as the start of summer, and what better way to kick off the season than with some local events.

Memorial Day Mass

Sunday, May 26 - 4 p.m.

The 19th Ward Youth Foundation will host an outdoor Memorial Day Mass in honor of the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces. Mass will begin at 4:00 pm on the St. Barnabas Convent grounds, 10161 S. Longwood Drive.  Fr. Tom McCarthy will celebrate the mass with area veterans and families of active service men and women playing roles. A collection will be taken at the Mass and donated to Postage for Parcels, a local organization that provides care packages to troops serving overseas.
