Wonderburger Sale Falls Through, Restaurant to Reopen

The owners of the classic Mount Greenwood restaurant will stay open while they seek another buyer.

Wonderburger is coming back.

The Mount Greenwood burger joint first opened in 1954 and was closed on Dec. 31 as the owners made a deal to sell the restaurant. But on Tuesday that deal fell through.

Owner Karen McCormick has decided to reopen the restaurant on Thursday, Jan. 9, and stay open while the eatery remains for sale, said her daughter Megan Dobbs.

It's news that Wonderburger's loyal customers are sure to be happy to hear.

"We had such a wonderful outpouring of support while we were going through this," Dobbs said.

Dobbs says she and her mother planned to help the new owners with the transition. When the potential buyers backed out at the last minute Tuesday, all that had to be done was place a few orders and the doors could reopen.

Wonderburger will be open for business on Thursday, Jan. 9, 10:30 a.m.
