“Samsara” (2012) PG-13. RT 1:42. Wed., Feb. 20, 7:30 p.m. $7.50 ($5.50/BAC members). Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St. (111th Street south on Western),Chicago. 773-445-3838. www.beverlyartcenter.org.  “Samsara,” which means "the ever turning wheel of life" in Sanskrit, was filmed over nearly five years and in 25 countries, and documents sacred grounds, disaster zones, industrial sites and natural wonders. But , far from a traditional documentary, the film inspires introspection and interpretation that combine the ancient and the modern.

Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St. (111th Street south on Western),Chicago. 773-445-3838. www.beverlyartcenter.org. The true story of Leonie Gilmour (Emily Mortimer), an independent young woman in turn-of-the century Japan who becomes the editor – and lover – of  the famous Japanese poet, Yone Noguchi, and finds herself cast along to raise her child in a society with few opportunities for women.
