CUB PRESENTATION TO GIVE FREE GAS AND ELECTRIC GUIDANCE IN CHICAGO RIDGE, SHOW HOW TO CUT COSTS AND AVOID SCAMS

 

Experts with the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) will hold a free presentation in Chicago Ridge to help electric and natural gas customers cut their costs by potentially hundreds of dollars a year.

*CUB’s free services and its Consumer Hotline, 1-800-669-5556.

*How to spot unnecessary charges on electric and natural gas bills.

*Chicago Ridge’s “aggregation” program, and how it compares to ComEd’s rate.

*Making the right choices in the electric and gas markets.

*ComEd’s plan to install digital "smart meters" at homes across Illinois.

*How to avoid utility-related scams.

*CUB Energy Saver, www.CUBenergysaver.com, a free online service that has helped consumers cut energy bills by an average of more than $100 a year.

*CUB’s Cellphone Savings Center, www.CUBCellPhoneSaver.com, which gives tips on how to cut wireless costs.
