What's Your Problem With Chicago Public Schools? Tell Us.

Tell us what we should be looking at and share your opinions about the current state of CPS.

As this site's first anniversary came and went I began to think about the issues that most touched a nerve with the community. Public education easily came out on top of the list.

It seems like the teachers union strike brought the anger and resentment residents felt toward the school system to a head, and that those feeling never dissipated as the months went on. There were the school closings. Then the local school budget cuts

I have talked to parents, teachers, administrators and elected officials about the Chicago Public Schools and the myriad of problems facing the system today. But I want to hear more from you, our readers, about the main issues you see facing schools today.

Use the comments to tell us about the concerns you have, and some of the solutions you might have in mind. What should we by paying attention to and how can we work to fix the system?
