Register Now for the 2013 Beverly Hills Turkey Trot

Get registered early for one of the biggest neighborhood events of the year.

Get your running shoes ready, registration is now open for the annual Beverly Hills Turkey Trot.

The fifth annual 5K run and family walk is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 30 down the streets of beautiful North Beverly. Proceeds from this year's race will benefit the John McNicholas Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and the 19th Ward Youth Foundation.

You can register for the run or walk online at www.19thward.com.

The 5K race is a chip-timed event and CARA certified, while the family walk will be  un-timed fun for all ages. Pre-registering earns you a t-shirt and gift bag.

“The Beverly/Mount Greenwood area has embraced the Beverly Hills Turkey Trot 5K and made it one of the most popular events in our neighborhood,” said Ald. Matt O’Shea, in a news release. "This has become an annual Thanksgiving week tradition for many families and is a really fun and exciting day for all ages.”

After the race you can head over to the Kellogg School field for a vendor fair and live entertainment.

The John McNicholas Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation was founded by North Beverly residents Ed and Ann McNicholas, after their son John passed away from a brain tumor at the age of 15. Since it began, the foundation has donated money to researchers and organizations fighting to find a cure for pediatric brain tumors.
