Mount Greenwood Park Named One of Chicago's 5 Best Playgrounds
The unique features earned the playground high praise.
It looks like all that hard work and fundraising paid off.
The playground at Mount Greenwood Park has been named one of the five best in Chicago by CBS Chicago.
In their description of the playground, they tout the separate play structures for older and younger children and unique features like the spray fountain and musical instrument sculptures as innovative designs.
Also earning praise was the shock-absorbent material that makes up the ground of the playground area.
Mount Greenwood was the only playground on the South Side to make the list. Read the full list from CBS Chicago.
The $1.2 million playground was custom designed and opened in 2008. Many of the materials and features used were at the cutting edge of park design.
