How You Can Help Strengthen the Beverly Arts Center

A quick hit post that rundowns what you need to know today.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and assorted dignitaries traveled to Beverly last month to announce a new debt forgiveness plan for the Beverly Arts Center that will lower the large amount the neighborhood institution owes on its mortgage.  

The agreement with Fifth Third bank allows for the bank to forgive four dollars for every one dollar raised by the community, capped at $500,000. In real terms, that means if the fundraising efforts raises $500,000 the bank will forgive $2 million of debt.
