Another difference this season: In 2012, Lyons was 8-1 in the regular season; this year, the Lions fought back from a 2-4 start and have won five straight games.
But getting revenge and a win will be a tall order once again. Mount Carmel (10-1) averages 39 points per game and has given up about a touchdown per game, including five shutouts. The Caravan's only loss was 30-27 in overtime to Loyola, one of the best teams in state.
How They Got Here
Mount Carmel beat Brother Rice 30-9 in the first round and Simeon 41-6 in the second round, with both games coming at home.
Lyons won at No. 2 Marist 34-28 and at No. 10 O'Fallon 42-27.
