UPDATE: Lincoln-Way West's Cody Pedigo is Patch MVP

Lincoln-Way West's Cody Pedigo outpolled 10 others in voting for Southland Patch's MVP, Feb. 4-10. He is now eligible for Athlete of the Month honors.

Lincoln-Way West's Cody Pedigo won the 160-pound championship at the Class 2A Rich East Sectional. Pedigo defeated Jim Kluk of Oak Forest 6-1 to run his record to 37-9. Lincoln-Way West High School

In voting for Southland Patch's MVP for Feb. 4-10, who gets the biggest roar from the crowd?
Marist's Peter Andreotti defeated Sandburg's C.J. Brucki 3-1 to win the 160-pound championship in the Class 3A Shepard Sectional. Andreotti next will wrestle in the IHSA state tournament.
Homewood-Flossmoor's Donnie Bell topped Tyler Johnson of Lockport 3-1 to win the 182-pound championship at the Class 3A Moline Sectional. Bell (30-6) next will wrestle in the IHSA state tournament.
Stagg's Sean Dwyer put up a double-double in the Chargers' 64-43 boys basketball victory over Thornton. Dwyer finished with 15 points and 18 rebounds.
Molly Franson continued to make a big impact with the Andrew girls basketball team. Franson scored 26 points and pulled down seven rebounds in a 62-49 victory over Thornwood.
Bloom Township's Bria Gaines put up another double-double in the Blazing Trojans' 61-41 girls basketball victory over Kankakee. Gaines finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
